Show improvement COMBINES BEAUTY AND UTILITY A piece of improvement by city employees which combines utility and beauty and which should have found mention in these columns before is the flagstone approach and the fence or retaining wall built at the city power plant during the summer the area to the east and north of the plant and extending to the creek bank on the north was neatly paved with flagstones flag stones and concrete so that cars belonging to the operators or anyone else who has occasion to go to the plant may be driven in without miring in the mud or dust around this area a low rock fence or retaining wall was built it is made of rocks of all colors gathered from all over this section by the plant operators Aless rs R L winston Orte Ort orTS riwA i ross guymon and laid up by hugh E matheson under mr hal bermans ter mans direction it is the most beautiful thing of its kind we have ever seen really artistic in its construction and well worth a trip up to the plant to see the improvement was made at small cost to the city much of it by the operators during spire time and is a protection to the plant and an asset to the city for which mr halterman and his associates socia tes are to be highly complimented it denotes keen in interest t by these men in the affairs of ane city of which they are in charge |
