Show idairy dairy company retains present board members stockholders reelect re elect adams pen bleton and as members for coming year accept managers financial report at the annual meeting of the southern utah dairy company held on monday night of this week all members of the board boar q whose terms expire at this time were reelected re elected as officers of that institution hugh L adams and T A were reelected elected re to the two year terms and warren pendleton named as one year member of the board these men with samuel abbott and R L fenton who are the holdover members will constitute consi tute the board for the coming year pendleton who has served as secretary for the past year will likely continue as suca when the group is reorganized manager ja P L fentons jentons Fen tons annual report of the business of the company and its financial si standing andina was very comprehensive and div div en in a way that was understood by all who were present it also contained one or two suggestions of changes which could be made mada which would help the company s business the report showed that the company was some 2000 better ote off than at the time of the annual meeting last year according to agures given in the report the feeds department showed a profit of although it is operated on a nonprofit non profit basis to help milk producers and farmers to procure feed for their livestock the machinery department profits were a little less than but showed an increase of in inventory or machinery in stock the grocery department including the sale of meats showed the i biggest profit of all accounting for the rest of the net income of the 1 company exact figures for which are not available the cheese making department was the only one which operated at a loss during the year which was caused by the low price oi of that product and the fact that the volume of milk received at the plant sufficient for the economical ono mical production 0 f cheese the report showed that if an average of pounds of milk were received at the plant daily for cheese making the overhead would still be the same and it would be possible to make a net profit of 1000 at the same price received for cheese during the past year the amount of milk received at the plant now is about pounds and that is about what has been received daily during the year one of the suggestions made by the manager which might be of benefit to the plant would be the he installation of an ice cream making unit for use during the i months when the market for it s I 1 good and the cheese market s down the ma manufacturers of ice cream can afford to pay more for butter fat during the hot summer months than is possible by making a cheese from the same milk according to mr fenton |
