Show commissioners hold S regular nov me meeting eting 1 accept report of county pair fair corn com cittee consider requests for aid in health program and ail a road improvements BUSINESS transacted r the regular november meeting lot at the iron county commissioners was held last saturday with all members of the board with the clerk assessor attorney treasurer and sheriff in attendance and with the following matters ot of business being considered A detailed report of the lion H county fair hold held here this tall fall was I 1 presented by ray D garner chair iman man of the general fair committee the report was prepared and presented in ill tine fine shape and showed a credit balance ot of which was turned back to the county as a rei fund the commissioners accepted the report and the clerk was inbi 6 strutted ted to arile a letter to the 1 1 committee 0 all members to rec receive elve a copy expressing the thanks ot of ry cices tices the alcea he board tor for their splendid ser walter C mitchell and edna S thatch hatch ot of the parowan carowan health coun all C 11 met with tho the board and ex explain plain 0 ed that an examination of local school chool children showed that many p of them were in need of 0 having their tonsils removed and that parents tents of 0 many ot of them were unable to ito stand the expense they further stated started that thal they had contacted the opt doctors in cedar city and they had indicated a willingness vo to handle I 1 the more urgent cases at reduce prices prices providing some finance could be had to pay in part for their ser k they asked that the county in this matter anett ye 1 ant aas was taken under advisement for the I 1 A committee representing th the e U B rehabilitation service met with board and presented problems regarding unpaid taxes on oa property I 1 1 which this service Is trying to hel help P 0 alts clients redeem for their use a kain this request was also taken under advisement until property Is ato inspected and an investigation made imade by the commission members jot lot the delegation were D D bushnell v L E J M lt urle L W jones R D wadley and D J IW pearson win melling and hyrum perry representing farmers of cedar valley met with and asked the commissioners help in improving certain roads iu in that section they stated that it was next to impossible to get to their during the winter months the board assured P the committee that something H would be done to improve the road as a soon as road equipment were a ral val lable the clerk was instructed to write the mountain road com la icare t te ot of wells wella williams asking that they make collection of amounts they agree to pay if tills this road were constructed commissioner bulloch also reported that the allowing lowing ol men owed the county for or work done on oa their private roads in cedar canyon as follows frank dams adama 2000 ken macfarlane and heber jensen bert nelson and nd ernest webster A letter latter tram fram abe murdock was read ead in wah which fell lie he asked the county commissioners to improve the old old gold springs road so BO that it can be ased by mining interests 11 in that in transporting their ore or using during the entire winter the clerk was instructed to answer mr air and inform him that the coun y had spent considerable money in improving this road last spring and thal it was wag their intention to keep keel road in as good shape as their ands ifune would permit th the cie clerk rk was instructed to write Senai Sn at tora elbert D thomas and cap glywin mal 11 king as well as represent arlve abe murdock ll and explain our condition in the west end ot of our n 19 1 especially regarding I 1 able ble mining development as well as agricultural cultural and other development tend land ask that they see it if something could not be done whereby utah could get an ail allotment at 0 power in train from the boulder dam to give utah 11 interests an equal chance with those ot of adjoining states in develop ent by use ot of power at a reason 4 able cost cast the tentative budget for or the year 1938 prepared by the county auditor was waa considered briefly by the commissioners and jt it will be given uither further ui ther consideration at the next reggar meeting several pieces of pro petry held by the tha county for or taxes was ordered sold to applicants tor for them several other minor matters were disposed ot of and the months bills against the county were acted upon before the meeting adjourned to meet again on I 1 P 4 bor er ath |
