Show city council names judges of election electo 1011 designate polling places for city election to be held nov 2nd and transact other business at regular meeting the local city council at the regular monthly meeting on tuesday veiling named judges ot of election lor for the three voting districts of th city and announced polling places for the city election which is to be held on tuesday november 2nd and and at which a mayor tour four councilmen a city recorder and a city treasurer will be elected to hold office for the next two years judges named are as follows district no 1 blanch whitney gwen af gurr and janie mitchell district no 2 kate taylor jeddie orton and valeria kaminski district no 3 iella delia mitchell itchell Al joseph H R bentley and mable pendleton polling places in districts no 1 and 3 will be in the court house and school house as they b have been for a number ot of years but the pol ling pace for district no 2 will be in the basement of the library this year for many years this district voted in the old relief hall and last year in the banquet room of the recreation hall the polls will bo be ol 01 from 7 in the morning until 7 in the evening as is the usual procedure the old question of whether the city is to maintain the crossings over the ditches and breakwater back of the mitchell benson home for the benefit of those people who have property on the hill above was again discussed to some length but no definite understanding was made with thomas ennett bennett r and john 6 dalton who were present at the meeting the purchase of the circus bleacher r seats now held by mr air angus horrig and which were used at the race track during the county fair was discussed and mayor hatch was instructed to see just what they could be purchased for it was pointed out that these seats could be used by the city tor for celebrations on various occasions there being enough ot of them to seat people it was waa brought to tile the attention lOll ot of the council that many ot at the meters on residences around town are inside the houses or so high on the wall that it is hard to get to them lor for accurate reading sometimes ladders have to be procured to get to those higher up and if the family home where the meters are in the house it sometimes necessitates a second trip back to get the readings they wera were also informed that in or two there are no meters one places in town the council decided to have these meters put on and to chango change the places ot of those where they are arc hard to get at city treasurer benson who is also collector ot of light and water rentals reported that collections ran between 1600 and 1700 in september which lie he figured was exceptionally good some other matters ot of business were discussed and the bills against the city we were re the meeting adjourned before acted upon jour ned |
