Show RANGE KANGE management RESULTS TO BE SHOWN TO FIELD DAY VISITORS striking results ot of a four year management program will be shown the intermountain intel mountain forest force t and range experiment station 50 60 mil billet ei e i west ot of allford Ml Alil lford rord during the second annual field day activities september 3 and 4 according to ito reed W bailey director the caravan ot of visitors will assemble at mildord at 9 a m september 3 and proceed under direction to the desert branch station among the projects to be studied on tho the tour ot of inspection which will bo be a part ot of the field day program are arc vigor ot of range plants on the manager managed and uri unmanaged managed range by managed grazing invasion ot of low value or weedy species to replace palatable plants effects of drought and effects of plant cover on erosion A program of especial interest to stockmen stoc kmen technical workers and others will be conducted in cooperation with the extension ser service vice of the utah agricultural college and university of nevada in the evening at the station headquarters the program will include discussions of various phases of range management by director bailey dr george stewart selar S hutchings and C E favre of the forest service by extension directors of utah and nevada by officials of 0 livestock associations by representatives of the division of grazing the soil conservation service and other agencies present all visitors are welcome to spend friday night at the station where beds and bedding will be furnished by the forest service director direct or galley bailey said meals will be provided at t headquarters ers for a nominal harge charge following the adjournment of the he field day at 2 p m saturday september 4 cattlemen sheep men ind and others are welcome elcome vv to hold meetings tor for their respective groups at the station |
