Show nation s birthday passes quietly here july ath the nations birthday passed quietly here with most people joining in and enjoying the very good program arranged tor for the days observance this pr program was carried out substantially as aa announced there were many out of 0 town people here to spend the day with their relatives and friends is a will be noted by the local and personals column in this issue and all enjoyed themselves although there so BO many floats in the parade they were very appropriately decorated church and civic organizations formed the biggert big geat pare ot of entries with the southern utah dairy co being the only business house represented the legion and auxiliary prepared a beautiful float but due to some misunderstanding were late and got get into the line prizes offered for the best floats went to the daughters of the pioneers and gun and rod club respectively with the ithe west ward M 1 I A receiving honorable mention the band as usual was at hand and added more to the success of the day than any other one thing A very good meeting was held at ten with the east ward chapel tilled almost to capacity the different parts on the program were all very to the day and were given in a very pleasing manner the making of 0 the original flag by a group of little girls and the oration by veron decker were very good sports and a softball sott ball game took up the afternoon and they entertained the large crowd which gathered until almost time cor the band concert on the lawn by the library A well attended dance was the final event of the day |
