Show paragonah Para gonah h by correspondent funeral services were held in the ward chapel hero here wednesday ay at 2 1 I 31 tor for aunt sarah jones who passed cassed away early sunday morning at her home liere here foll awig n an illness ot of two or three years duration bishop doyle robinson presided and the services were as follows the choir sang come come coine ye saints prayer was otteen by bp robinson song by choir oti oil my father sentiments f from rom the daughters ot of pioneers were read by mrs airs ethel robb hobb wm win at dalton of parowan carowan sang mother mccree and amasa stones kenneth barton wm T davenport and burris bariton garton barton iton sang a quartet the speakers were edward G palmer of 0 cedar city daniel stones of paragonah Para gonah and wm wms sillier miller of deaver beaver the closing sons song by the choir was tho deepening trials and the closing prayer was offered by richard R robinson at the cemetery the choir sang god re be with you till we meet again and tho he dedicatory prayer was of by richard N lund bund A very large crowd attended the funeral anti and the floral offerings were very beautiful sarah davis jones 82 was born january 12 1855 at gla morgan shire south wales tile the daughter ot of thomas D davis and mary jon jones she has four and one brother her father and mother and family were converted to the mormon church in wales and left tor for utah june 1 1863 with alft a baby just three days old she gathered her family ot of childers chil dern and left her home tor for the land ot of zion aunt father was unable to leave with his family and had to remain in wales another year before he could join them they reached salt lake in october 1863 and finally settled in greenville beaver county here she met wm win E jones and was married to him october 6 1870 in the endowment house in salt lake city at the age of 15 years they later moved to paragonah Para gonah and have resided here since then from this union 11 children were born three still living thomas W jones mrs jane adams and mrs cassle robb also 24 grandchild ern and 24 grea great t grandchildren shi she was a faithful ot of sacrament and relief society meetings and served as a visiting relief teacher for many years everyone loved her she was good to everyone and will be missed greatly she has been a widow for 40 I 1 years ears and has been called to part with eight ot of her eleven children f five 1 0 of whom were grown men ard women she raised ralsey her ber granddaughter nina jones who died at the age ot of twenty and when her daughter hilda lang passel away leaving two small girls slie ebs took look them ani ami raised them |
