Show OUR SUPREME NEED to mention the things that this community needs or even the very important things would require a lot of space and thought some ol of the most important include more money more civic pride more development celop ment financially educationally religiously religious lv and every other way but the supreme me need of the community as we see it is a spit spirit it of cooper co oper aaion a get together gether to attitude with that sort of an attitude established there anything we cant do without it we are sure to go backward instead of forward the comm communities unitie which are progressing and forging ahead are not those in which there is strife and contention but who have a spirit espirit of unit unity ty and operation cooperation co loath as we are to admit it there is too much pulling at cross purposes in this community too many attempts to nullify the efforts of some other individual or faction A typical illustration of this is furnished fuini shed iu in the recent school election in which an attempt was made by certain of our citizens to unite on a basis which would be for the best interests of the community regardless of party affiliations or Cother otherwise wise they were foiled in that attempt through the real of less than half dozen other individuals divi duals of the community whether on the pretext of party loyalty justice to a neighboring community or mere personal prefer preference erice we know not As a result we find parowan with the largest school in the county represented by one board member from pa aginah five miles to the northeast of us and by another an equal distance to the northwest neither of which would be immediate immediately iv a in case cabe of an emergency we mention this rather in regret than criticism to emphasize what we have pointed uis nui ui sup supreme reint need possibly it was fur for the best that the election went as it did we do not net attempt to say as to that but the outstanding objection as wesee we see itis it is rather in the division of the community than in the result of the election we cant imagine our progressive gres sive neighbors on the south ol 01 any other community which is build ing up dividing on a proposition of that t rt and if we would pro progress gres s w must get a similar attitude new year resolutions in that direction would be very fitting it seems to us |
