Show CHANGE IN amm As announced in the last issue of 0 this paper aper 1 april marked i change in the management of th times whether or not that change which was necessitated by air rollo the former editors taking over tin th iron county record in cedar city and the subsequent leasing to us of the times until the end of the present year will develop into a huge april fo fool 01 joke disaster ous alike to the times and to its present management remains yet to be seen just jn st what induced us to undertake the job iob we are not quite sure catain Clr Cr tain we are however that our action was riot not the result of any preconceived idea that we know just how to manage and edit a paper or even that we know how it should be managed we admit that we know nothing about the newspaper business furthermore the more we see of the complexities of the task we ve are undertaking the more certain we are that we know nothing about it one little ray of hope comes from the belief that we can learn and to td do that our best efforts shall be made there are some few things however about abou which we are very certain ift chief among which is the fact that without the support of the good citizens of this and the neighboring communities both moral and financial all our efforts shall be to no avail unless you yoi friends and readers of the times call to our attention things of general interest which are otherwise likely to escare escape our attention unless your criticisms be of a constructive nature and unless your financial support be at least liberal if not no generous then we are not likely to succeed as you and as we should like to see us succeed with our home paper As to the policy we intend to pursue little neil need be said except that we shall try to be a booster aggressive progressive and fair to boost for those things which are good and to criticise criticism critic ise constructively if possible those conditions in our midst which are not as they should be to do all in our power to encourage and pro anoe a better understanding and better feeling among the citizens of this community and among the communities of of the county and of southern utah politically and religiously we shall try despite our rather firmly 1 bed convictions to be absolutely fair th the good we see in those whose principles may aly be at variance with ours in either respect and we shall look fo for r the good we shall c amend the bad things thing we see from whatever source we shall ariti cise we shall probably ask for the liberty editorially 11 1 to romp on those things and conditions which do riot not make for the welfare and the progress of this locality and to do so 80 in such a away way that individuals who may be concerned will not feel fed tha that t they are the recipients of PeTs ofal thrusts likewise we want the privilege of saying good things of deserving individuals without being accused of playing for favors or otherwise one final and lasting request we wish honake toOn aketo to all if you like what we publish tell your neighbors if you dont like it please tell us |
