'Snow Queen' to visit Salt Lake iflagical, musical fantasy Adapted from a story by Hans Christian Chris-tian Andersen comes to life at Promised Pro-mised Valley Playhouse when "The Snow Queen" opens Nov. 29. The play will run on the Salt Lake City theater's main stage through Dec. 21. The play tells the story of little Kai, who is carried off by the icily beautiful, but cruel, Snow Queen. Kai's sister, Gerda, has many strange a:nd wonderful adventures ' before she finds him and melts his frozen heart with her tears. The enduring tale of love and faith was adapted for the stage by Joanne Parker and Madelyn Larsen. Parker also directs a talented cast in a theatrical extravaganza that includes in-cludes 35 children, a dozen ballets chorographed by Julie Orlob, and the Salt Lake City debut of British actress 'afid-Xilifeher "as" the Snow Queen. The show plays Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with 2 p.m. matinees Dec. 7 and 14 and a 7 : 30 p.m. performance Dec. 3. There will be no performance on Thanksgiving Day.
