Gerri and Darrell Meyer have packed away most of their ongoing exhibits to make room for two special western artists Ken Baxter and Doug Pendleton Ben-nion. Ben-nion. The new exhibit will open Sunday at 2 p.m. at their gallery which is located at 305 Main Street. Baxter has selected a series of Park City compositions com-positions for the show. "Ken is noted for his historic Utah scenes. He works from historic photos and archives ar-chives and his work is always very popular," said Gerri Meyer. One of the oil paintings to be included in the show depicts two children riding inner tubes on a snowy Park City street. Another is a scene from Main Street in 1914. Baxter studies under Alvin Gittins and resides in Salt Lake City. "Doug Bennion is a new up-and-coming artist. He is ; young and although he usually does figure studies, . '; you never know what to expect," said Meyer. Bennion ; will be showing primarily watercolors of western ' : people. In addition to the new paintings by Baxter and Ben- ; nion, visitors will also have a chance to admire the : bronze work of Edward Fraughton, Clark Bronson , Gary Lee Price and Dennis Sm ith . ' ; - Ken Baxter and Doug Bennion will be at the Meyer Gallery for the opening reception from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. ' Sunday. The exhibit will continue through Nov. 30. |
