Show Edna Behunin Edna Lucile Behunin, a native of Park City, died Nov. 13. She was 74. She was born Feb. 26, 1909 to David EJi and Johana Seamons. Later, she graduated from East High School in Salt Lake. An active member of the LDS Church, she married Carlos Vardon Behunin in the Salt Lake Temple on Feb. 4, 1929. Her husband preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters Mrs. Carl T. (Donna) Woolsey of Park City; Mrs. William V. (Joan) Wimmer; and sons David V. and Robert C. Behunin; all of Salt Lake; 12 grandchildren; grand-children; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 16 and burial was at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. James F. Murnin James Francis Murnin, a lifelong resident of the Park City area and a former city councilman and county commissioner, com-missioner, died at age 59. He passed away Monday, Nov. 14, at home with family and friends . He was born May 23, 1924 to James Stephen and Ellen Caulfield Murnin. He married Yvonne Johnson on Sept. 27, 1952 at St. Mary's Church. Murnin was a devoted member of St. Mary's, serving as usher for many years. Murnin served on the Park City Council from 1954 to 1958. "He was very level-headed," recalled Will Sullivan, who worked with Murnin as fellow councilman, then mayor. Murnin left the council after he moved out of the city to Snyderville. He was Democratic chairman of the Parley's Park voting district for 12 years. He began serving as Summit County Commissioner in March of 1969. Murnin filled the unexpired term of Commissioner Com-missioner R.W. Durand, said County Clerk Reed Pace. His bid for election was not successful, and he served until December, 1970. "He was an excellent man," said Pace. Murnin became familiar to area residents while working 30 years for Hi-Land Dairy and Western General Dairies. He retired a year ago. Said Record historian Bea Kummer, "Everybody knew him and everybody liked him. He was a super-great guy." He is remembered as a beloved husband, father and grandfather. grand-father. His survivors include his wife, Yvonne; his sons James Harold and Jeffrey Paul (of Park City) and John Patrick of Heber City; daughters Teresa Ann, Marlene, Susan, and Mrs. Gary (Gayle Yvonne) Kilgore, all of Park City; two granddaughters, Amber and Tiffany; and brothers John (Bountiful), Barney (Portland, Oregon), Willie (Park City), Dee (Centerville), and Terry (Salt Lake City). Requiem Mass will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial is in Park City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. |
