The Telemark Turn is an essential technique for many back country conditions. Classes teachinng this classic method of turning a ' Nordic ski are offered every Thursday and Sunday morning. morn-ing. Three hours are spent riding chair lifts to maximise downhill miles. ' Advanced Track Skiing is designed to accommadate the improving citizen racer. Open to anyone wishinng to concentrate on pure track skiing, the class emphasizes currennt technical form in diagonal stride, double poling and training ideas, with sessions every Saturday throughout the season. White Pine Ski Touring also offers a several courses and tours to increase people's understanding of mountain skills and mountain moun-tain environment. Half Day Tours designed for skiers who would like to travel into a different area, with the emphasis on experiencing exper-iencing varied terrain and acquiring new skills. All Day Tours: Instruction on these tours varys with the experience and desires of the group. Reservations are necessary for the Day Tours. Steve and Jim and their staff also offer Ice Climbing classes. Avalanche Awareness Aware-ness classes, a Snow Ecology Course and Snow Camping in the High Uintahs. This teaches basic camping skills and snow craft, with the emphasis on mountain safety. An Advanced Mountain Skills Xlass Reaches Ice Axe use, rope handling and belays, and snow anchoring systems.
