Show Isn't It Funny Isn't it funny that the state of Utah has a rampant amount of vice for such a morally upstanding place? Why is that? Certainly, a small amount of this vice is controlled, but prostitution thrives, including underage people selling themselves openly on the streets of Salt Lake City for homosexual liasons. It is not uncommon to be propositioned by these teens, most of them runaways. Nor is it uncommon to find a connection in our capital city for all the heroin you might need. In fact, prostitution, gambling and white collar fraud are three of the most proliferating areas of crime in the state and all categories would be excellent areas where the State Liquor and Narcotics agents could spend some solid investigative time. That time would be better spent that way, instead of obtaining a feature article written in "The Record" about a local woman who enjoys brewing homemade beer, showing others how to do it, and then closing her classes down. Heaven forbid what could happen if a Park City resident who has learned how to brew beer at home is turned loose on an unsuspecting society. It's frightening to think of someone armed with two six packs of homemade, 4.0 beer, among our children. No, it's too dangerous to sit at home and read while enjoying a beer the state can't collect taxes on. Let's get in our cars, go to the state store, buy a taxed jug of tequila, drive to a roadside beer bar, drink tequila and beer, get blind and step outside and drive home. Everything is fine for the Department of Public Safety and the Liquor Commission, not to mention the Legislature, as long as you get drunk on state taxed beer, wine and booze. Just don't try to brew your own and sit at home to drink it. |
