Show Simulcast' to link radio stations in P.C., New Orleans If you happen to be driving through Louisiana Saturday afternoon, set your car radio on WWL, the 50,000-watt voice of New Orleans. Talk show host Jack Duarte is scheduled to do a live interview inter-view with Park City's own Debby Symonds, executive director of the ChamberBureau, Cham-berBureau, and with representatives from the three Park City-area ski resorts. If your being in Louisiana is a long shot, here's another suggestion. Stay in Park City and listen to it live on KPCW. According to Marty Melcher, director of communications com-munications for the ChamberBureau, Cham-berBureau, the interview will actually take place in the KPCW studios and will be sent over a dedicated telephone line, then broadcast broad-cast in New Orleans at virtually vir-tually the same time as it goes on the air in Park City. Melcher said KPCW is setting set-ting up the necessary equipment this week for the 45-minute "simulcast" which is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Park City time. Melcher said the interview should give Park City invaluable in-valuable exposure in that part of the south reached by WWL's powerful signal. And she added that it might also provide Parkites with a few insights. "It's a chance for them to see how Park City is sold to other areas," she said. "It might be of interest to people here in town." Park City is becoming a popular destination for residents of the New Orleans area, Melcher said. An estimated 1,000 to 1,500 of them are expected here during one week alone Mardi Gras week. Melcher gave credit to former Park City resident Ann Hutchins, a sales agent for Western Airlines and now a resident of New Orleans, for helping to develop the Louisiana connection. She said the growing inventory of golf courses in the area is also helping to draw summer visitors from the steamy South. |
