Show Four charged with thefts ( The Park City Police Department recovered nine pairs of skis and poles and arrested four California men in connection with the thefts early Tuesday. According to Park City Police Sergeant Kipp Inger-soll, Inger-soll, the recovery of the skis and the subsequent arrests followed a telephone call from a New York man staying at the Chateau Apres Lodge. According to Ingersoll, Peter Torok said he heard noises coming from below his room at the lodge, shortly after 3 a.m. When Torok went to see what the disturbance was he found a friend's skis missing from the ski storage room at the lodge. Shortly thereafter, Torok reported, he witnessed wit-nessed a man in the hallway carrying his (Torok's) skis. The man, who later was identified as Steven J. Martin Mar-tin of Northridge, California, allegedly told Torok that he found the skis and was returning them. When Ingersoll arrived at the scene, however, Martin was not there. Ingersoll made a search of the area on Woodside Avenue near the Park City Ski Area Plaza. At approximately ap-proximately 4:30 a.m. Ingersoll said he made contact con-tact with Martin. J ''"if told Martin that he had followed his footprints around the plaza from the Chateau Apres Lodge and believed he had stolen skis in his possession. Ingersoll said Martin then led him to his room at the lodge where nine pairs of skis and poles were stored. Martin allegedly admitted to stealing the skis with the, help of his three roommates, Robert Malpasuto, Northridge, Nor-thridge, California; Jeffrey K. Iko, Granada Hills, California; and Manolo M. Gonzalez also of Granada Hills. The four were booked into the county jail. Bail was set at $3,600 each. ..... ... .....,... . ,... ............ - . Park City Police Sgt.
