Show Snowbird Opens for Summer Skiing Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, will re-open it's slopes beginning Saturday, May 29th for summer skiing. Packy Longfellow, Communications Com-munications Director for Snowbird, said, "The Resort received a healthy 700 inches of snow accumulative throughout the winter season, sea-son, allowing us to remain open through May 9. We shut down for three weeks for annual maintenance and inspection of our lift facilities, facili-ties, with intentions of re-opening for summer skiing". ski-ing". The slopes will open as intended on the 29th of May, remaining open until June 20th, with hours of operation from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily. Skiers will be transported by the aerial tram to the summit, with skiing offered in the Little Cloud region. Longfellow continued, "this is the first time in the elven year history of the resort that summer skiing will be made available. Snowbird holds the distinct honor of being the only ski resort to offer summer skiing in the Rocky Mountain region." The resort will be open to the general public for skiing as well as its regularly offered summer events and activities. |
