Show 'Montana' Plays Cowboy Bar J , T I (a r - Montana Montana, a popular draw whenever they are in Park City, are appearing at the Cowboy Bar tonight, tomorrow tomor-row and Saturday. There will be two shows each night, at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. The cost of advance tickets is $6.00 and $8.00 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at the Cosmic Aeroplane in Salt Lake and at the Cowboy Ticket office here. Montana, formerly the Mission Mis-sion Mountain Wood Band, has worked a decade as a band to develop their stage-dominated stage-dominated charisma. They started as a bar band in ski resorts and packed off to New York City where they got notoriety on a CBS TV show, found a manager, and started playing the . national college concert circuit. The group recorded, funded and distributed their own album "In Without Knocking" which sold 40,000 copies off the back of the bus. They were the featured guests of the 1 rated musicalvariety show of the '79 season, The Cheryl Ladd Special, on ABC-TV, and they were guests stars of the nationally syndicated TV show HEE HAW, in '79 and '80. Having toured all but three states numerous times, this band known as the Mission Mountain Wood Bank to thousands of fans as being one of the best live shows around changed their name to MONTANA. Their new album on Water-house Water-house Records, "Change In The Weather", contains the musical diversity that makes them such a successful touring act. wnue oesi known for their country and blue grass styles, the band has other sides as well, including rock and blues. Their first single "Show Is On The Other Foot Tonite" bulleted up the country charts. A second single is due soon. Montana regularly sells out The Palomino, they do great business at John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks, NV and now they're a favorite at Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth and the Lone Star Cafe in New York. The group will log 200 dates cross-country this year, including their third, and precedent setting, appearance at the National NECAA College talent buyers showcase in Chicago. They have played 10 regional showcases. |
