Show Lady Golfers Hold Final Luncheon Fifty members and guests met for a last day luncheon and meeting Tuesday, Sept. 28 at Shannon's Restaurant. This was arranged and beautifully decorated by Monique and Tony Cate, with Bette Snyder assisting. . Gwen Larson arranged lovely centerpieces with a golfing theme, which were donated as door prizes. Other door prizes were donated by Blooms. Kimball Art Center (Lee Bennett), and the Marguerite Shoppe. Great Garb sponsored an outstanding outstand-ing . fashion show, with members' Patti Wells, Jayne Pelton, Joann Krajeski, Carolyn Car-olyn Harris and Cindy Huseth as models. Jans also modeled the latest ski clothes. The Club Championship Tournament was postponed again, due to snow and poor weather conditions. The final nine hold round will be played the first Tuesday in October that the course is playable. Members are asked ask-ed to call the golf club to check on playing conditions. The Golf Club will award a free season pass for next year to the Club Champion. Trophies will be held in the pro shop until the final round is completed next month. Lois Mauer, tournament chairman, presented trophies troph-ies to the most improved players-Jeanne Guengerich and her daughter. Jayne Pelton, for the 18 Hole Group, and to Cindy Huseth for the 9 Holers. Jayne Pelton earned a gold charm for breaking Both 100 and 90 in a single season! A gift was presented to Helen Taft as president, and a special thanks to Doug Vilven and Bob Rudd, as well as the pro shop, for being so helpful to our association this season. Susie WiMiams thanked those ladies who Were so helpful in the Virginia Whitney Tournament, a cancer can-cer benefit. Pro Bob Rudd spoke about the rules, and Carolyn Harris about the By-Laws for next year. Shari Brinkerhoff, next year's president, presented the slate for the 1983 season, which was approved by the members. Cindy Huseth will be the 9 Hole chairman. Both groups will continue to play each Tuesday as a combined organization. Margaret Regan Re-gan the Treasurer's Report, dues of 67 members, and those interested were encouraged en-couraged to sign and pay dues for next year in order to get a printed roster before spring play. Ladies were encouraged to join the State organization for team play with other clubs next year. |
