Show Council Authorizes Timeshare Law Suit City Attorney Tom Clyde has been directed by the Citv Council to initiate legal proceedings against a firm doing business in Park Citv for allegedly violating the municipal ordinance covering cover-ing time share sales and conversions. The city alledges the Kilburn group has been illegally selling time shares in residential neighborhoods in violation of the ordinance, 'passed last year. Most of the single family residences being be-ing sold on a time sharing basis are apparently in the Prospector area. According to the ordinance timeshares may be developed develop-ed and sold only in commercial commer-cial zones. City Manager Arlene Loble estimated the legal action could cost the city $30,000 and added there is no hope for a financial settlement should the city win nor for reimbursement of court costs. "The suit demonstrates the city's intention to enforce its timeshare ordinance" said Loble, "and hopefully it will stop people from selling illegal timeshares in the future." In a related matter the City Council granted a plat approval for the Skiers' Lodge on Norfolk Ave. which , allows the owners to sell off the former lodge units on a timeshare basis. The ' Lodge's underlying zone permits the timeshare conversion. |
