Show Resort Says Nothing As Rumors Fly Despite rumors last week indicating that Greater Park City Co. had come up with a concrete answer to their current financial difficulties, which would be announced this week, sources at the increasingly closed lipped resort seem to feel that no viable solutions have as of yet been agreed upon. The only statement anyone seems to want to make is, "when we have something to tell you we will." Meanwhile, key corporate officials continue con-tinue to meet sometimes long into the night discussing alternatives, formulating formulat-ing future plans and going over proposals. Apparently several groups have shown an interest in financial participation in the ailing Utah ski resort, but as of the Park Record's Tuesday deadline, nobody seems to have come up with a proposal, satisfactory to both sides. A rumor raged through Park City last week to the effect that Vail Associates, the primary developers of the resort' town of Vail, Colorado, had purchased 80 per cent of Greater Park City Co. stock. However, Dick Peterson, President of Vail Associates told the Record that there had been no purchase of any stock on the part of Vail Associates and that anything to that effect was totally rumor. Mr. Peterson Pet-erson did indicate that they had been negotiating with Greater Park City Co., but negotiations have since broken off. Why the negotiations were ended is anyone's guess. The rumor mill in Park City, however seems to be ever active with such names as Aspen and Lake Tahoe occasionally slipping slipp-ing out. |
