Show i7" i i& this book not been printed. The Park City chapter of the Daughters of Utah -Pioneers held their meeting Wednesday, Oct. 8 in the Seminary building. The meeting was called to order by Bea Kummer. LaRue Carpenter gave the opening prayer, followed by 'the Pledge of, Allegiance. Opening Open-ing songwas ' We Are The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers" accompanied by Gayle Wade. The minutes were read by Rintha Burns. , Lesson Leader Hazel Gun-derson Gun-derson gave the story of Anne Jane Jorgenen Ras-mussen Ras-mussen of Mt. Pleasant from the lesson Native Pioneers and was mostinteresting due to the fact the area was familiar to Hazel. Jennie, died Jan. 19, 1960 a year after her husband Daniel. She was 92. Beatrice Snow gave a history of Joseph Moroni Sanders which in turn was given to the county historian Bea Kummer and will be sent in to state office for possible use in future lessons. Word received that Paul Kbfford is doing nicely after heart surgery and should be able to come home Wednes- day. Everyone is happy to hear this good news. ' Ruby Dingle has been hospitalized for a month. She is at home now but will soon return for open heart surgery. sur-gery. Ruby will need blood donors. Recently , I received my copy of the old Porterville Church, 1864-1948, It is most interesting as it goes back to many of my grandparents of several generations. Sanford Porter, Sr., Chauncy War-riner War-riner Porter, Lyman Wright Porter, all involved in settling sett-ling Porterville and helped to build the Porterville Ward and .all served as Bishop. Also on the Carter side was L Samuel Carter and Thomas r Carter who were also first settlers and Bishops. Not only myself as , a direct . descendant but also others here in the Park Qty area, Florences, Durrants," Cotton : and Phillips are . also early settlers and builders of the area.
