Show 4. Eight outstanding 4-H leaders were elected to receive the annual Utah State Farm Bureau 4-H leadership award. The volunteer leaders received en- graved plaques in honor of their outstanding service to youth in the 4-H program. Sharlene Anderton was the Summit County leader receiving the award. Sharlene has been a 4-H leader for 18 years, she is currently serving as president of the county 4-H counciland as a community supervisor. She has been a leader of a rock and mineral club for several years and has served as chairman of the county style dress revue contest, has judged at county fairs, and is active in community and church activities. Sharlene lives in Henefer and has done an outstanding job. We are proud to congratulate her for this very special award. On Friday January 26 at 1:00pm a workshop will be held and demonstrations given on Microwave ovens. It will be held in the Coalville LDS Stake Center in the Multi-purpose room. You do not need to own a microwave oven to attend. There should be good information informa-tion available for pros and beginners alike, so bring your friends and come on out. One-on-one basketball state finals will be held February 23, 1979 at Logan. An upholstery workshop is in the planning. Edna Fisher left December 27 for San Diego, Calif, where she plans to visit with her brother Bud Neel and family. They plan to attend the Rose Bowl parade on New years Day. We all wish Edna a Happy New Year and an enjoyable vacation in sunny California. The Blizzard' Wizzard sports club from White Salmon School District, White Salmon, Washington Wash-ington arrived in Park City December 27. They were a very tired bunch when they arrived as they had come by Amtrack and found it quite different than they expected, so there was no sleep on the trip down. They stayed at the Holiday Inn and really enjoyed the skiing, history and sightseeing, leaving on Friday for the trip home. A very excited and enthusiastic group. The Park City Chapter of Daughters of Utah Pioneers will hold their next meeting Wed., January 10, at 7:00pm at the home of daughter Fannie " "Williams. Our goal for this year is five new members, so come out and join if you are eligible. To be a daughter you must have a direct ancestor who came to Utah before May 10, 1869. |
