Show Energy Crisis At Sunn Pictures Schick Sunn Classic Productions, Pro-ductions, Inc., will trim its existing production schedule back to 1977 levels due to substantially decreased fuel allocations, it was announced by Sunn's Director of Administration, Admin-istration, Allan C. Pedersen. The plan will immediately effect one filming crew of approximately 50 people who will be layed off for at least the next thee months. Sunn will use this time to conduct much needed maintenance oh vehicles, equipment and facilities. Sunn has been filming at a feverish pace for the last two years directing its primary energies toward prime time TV Network, production. 4 'Last years activities placed Sunn among the top five volume producers in the country for prime time tele-casing production," stated Pedersen. "During that time our fuel allocations have fallen, fuel costs have risen dramatically and we have "not had time to properly effect repair and maintenance mainten-ance on our equipment and facilities." Sunn currently maintains a fleet of approximately approxi-mately one hundred vehicles and occupies nine facilities in the Salt Lake City Park City area. There will be no major effect on the community and no loss of business to the company because Sunns primary customers, the National Na-tional Broadcasting Company Com-pany (NBS) and ViaCom, a large television sales company, com-pany, have agreed to postpone post-pone delivery on forthcoming, productions. Pedersen also stated that the catchup period would have no negative impact on future business. Sunn is . presently completing "Beyond "Be-yond Deaths Door" based on the national best selling book by Dr. Maurice Rawlings. Another theatrical film, "In Search of Historic Jesus" will commence principal photography in July, to be followed later this year by two other features based on popular books, "Peoples Temple Peoples Tomb" and "Hangar 18". On the television side, NBC has contracted for and ordered the development of three two hour pilot projects for filming in the September January period. NBC has also paid for an additional one half million dollars for recasting and further development devel-opment of the TV pilot "Earthbound" partially filmed by Sunn earlier this year in Salt Lake and Park-City. Park-City. In addition, ViaCom, one of the worlds largest television televis-ion sales companies, is in development with Sunn for several film projects to be filmed later this year for International and Domestic TV syndication.
