Show ShLTeam Prepares For Europe - In . its continuing effort to. insure adequate training and race preparation, the United States Alpine Team is completing its final domestic camp of the summer at Mt. Hood, OR, and is completing final preparations for its first European camp of the season at Soldeh, Austria, the later part of this month. - Following a very success- 1 . ful slalom and giant slalom men's camp at Mt. Hood. Aug. 24-Sept.' 5, the women's wo-men's national team just wrapped up training at the Oregon resort after completing complet-ing specific physical and; . technical'slalom training. The women participating, in the camp were Christin" Cooper, Sun Valley, ID; Heidi Knight. New Canaan, -CT; Noel Lyons, East Burke, VT: Tamara McKinney, Lexington. Lex-ington. KY; and Cindy Nelson, Lutsen,'MN. Cindy Nelson. Phil Mahre and Steve Mahre will be just three of the more than 50 athletes attending the initial European fall camp which begins in Solden, Sept 21. An extra week was added to & the camp schedule to insure that optimum performance levels would be achieved and that all the physical testing and training would be completed. The men will be skiing Sept. 21-Oct. 18 and ; the women from Sept. 25-Oct. 23. Participating in these camps will be the complete men's and wo- men's national team, the junior national teams and selected development personnel. |
