Show CITY BRIEFS clean up week set City Manager Wayne Matthews announce last week that Park City's annual "clean-up week" will be held from May 15-21 this year. 3 subdivisions approved The Planning Commission gave preliminary approval to the last Wednesday to the Thaynes Canyon III subdivision, and final approval to a Thaynes Canyon interior subdivision and the North Star subdivision near upper Lowell Avenue. The Thaynes III project had met opposition from the Commission when presented at an earlier meeting because it included a proposed access road through a city park and a substandard private road. The board approved a revised plan, presented by engineer Jack Johnson, in which developers would build an access road on property to be purchased from the Park City resort, which now serves as part of the fifteenth hole of the resort golf course. The revised plan also cuts back the number of proposed lots from 52 to 36 and eliminates the controversial substandard road. The North Star subdivision, which also includes substandard road, was approved based on a recommendation from City Attorney Nick Colessides that the city would not be liable for services to the 10-lot subdivision if developers signed a disclaimer. City Council was reluctant to approve the proposal when they were presented the plans Thursday, however, and asked for more legal study by the City Attorney. After a lengthy discussion of the legality of a disclaimer agreement, planner Jack Johnson expressed dismay that his plans, already revised four times, may have to be revised again. |
