Show Commission Hears Proposal Summit County Planning Commission members heard a proposal presented by Bob Krause and Ray Webley representing rep-resenting Park City West for a large scale development at last week's regular meeting. The areas of development, water and sewer, ski slopes, etc., were discussed and ex- plained to the commission. It was explained the developers develop-ers are trying to comply with the large scale development provisions of county ordinances and that every effort will be made to comply with the recommendations recom-mendations of the Planning Commission. The proposed facility will be a total year round family recreation recrea-tion center, created for families and intended to supply wholesome whole-some recreation for everyone. Water and sewer disposal was the biggest concern of the Planning Commission and Mr. Krause assured the planning body that water had been pur-chased pur-chased from Canyon Rim Ranches and any difficulties would be resolved before Park West attempted to obtain any preliminary approval at all. For the time being the sewage would be taken care of by a large lagoon type system, until such time as the County established a sewer district in that area. A vicinity plan and Environmental Environ-mental Impact Statement (E.IJ3.) were shown to the group, and it was the feeling of the entire Planning Commission that John Probasco could be approved a s a Certified Engineer En-gineer to do the project. With reference to the E.I.S. more information was asked for on grades that would be present in the development. It was pointed out to Mr. Krause any approval of the vicinity plan and E.I.S. is not tantamount to any additional approval, but would merely indicate in-dicate the Planning Commission's Commis-sion's approval of the development's develop-ment's concept and all requirements require-ments of the PlanningCommis-sion PlanningCommis-sion would have to be adhered to. The PlanningCommission moved to approve Mr. Probasco prepare the E.IJS. and to consider con-sider for approval the vicinity plan. It was the commission's decision de-cision not to consider any development proposal unless it is in accord with the comprehensive compre-hensive plan. Summit County Commission Chairman G. Melvin Flinders expressed his feelings that a development of this type would be a benefit to the entire county. |
