Show High School FJeus Mi'inzen. Bonanza King and Queen were Don Evans and Tangee Sanchez. Bert Murnin was named Mr. Basketball and Steve Meinzen was named Mr. Wrestler. All were chosen by popular vote, except Bonanza King and Queen. They were chosen differently dif-ferently this year. The boys running for the title baked cakes and the girls made card houses. During the dance there was an auction of the cakes. The baker of the cake that received the highest bid, became Bonanza King. The card houses were judged by faculty and class officers. of-ficers. -Helen Marcellin. -PCIIS- Contest Held On March 21, Region 9 Solo and Ensemble contest was held at North Summit. The students who represented represent-ed Park High and their ratings are as follows: Lori L. Nelson, piano solo, 2; Becky and Barbara Bar-bara Neilson, vocal duet, 2; Delsa Winn, Maria Sweeten and Gobby Froelke, vocal trio, 1; Christene Kummer, JayneFar-ley, JayneFar-ley, Sharon Putman and Freida Putman, vocal quartet, 3 -plus; Doug Burns, alto sax solo, 2; Patti Prince and Vicki Wallin, clarinet duet, 2; Delsa Winn, clarinet. solo, I; Mark Lindsay, trombone solo, 2-plus; Scott Gardner. Jana Gallion and Bir-gitt Bir-gitt Froelke, guitar trio, 2 minus; Bonnie Brennan and Keri Powland, flute duet, 2 plus. Rosemary Durante. "Smilin' Through" "S milin Through, " a fantasy-comedy fantasy-comedy in three acts, is being presented in the Park High auditorium aud-itorium April 5 (tonight) and April 6, (tomorrow night) at 8 p.m. Admission, $1.00 -PCI1S- Delegate Chosen On March 22, five Junior girls were interviewed by two ladies from the American Legion to determine which girl will represent rep-resent Park High at Girls State this summer. The five girls who were interviewed inter-viewed were: Lori L. Nelson, Lori R. Nelson, Paula Kaye Roach, Myle Jackson and Kris-tie Kris-tie Bitner. The girls were interviewed separately. Some questions that the girls were asked were: Would you defend your country? Where do you live? Do you have a large family? Why do you want to go to Girls State? The delegates had to fill out an application. The alternate had to give her name, address and phone number. The delegate chosen was Lori R. Nelson, and the alternate chosen was Kristie Bitner. The purpose of Girls State is to learn more about the government govern-ment and to teach what is learned learn-ed to the students of the school. -PCHS- Coronation Ball It started out as a Freshman Frolic, but ended as a Coronation Corona-tion Ball. When the Freshmen had their Freshman Frolic they planned to announce Freshman Kingand Queen.
