The Miner's Hospital, which has been designated as a state historical site, has become the center of a community storm when it was announced that it might possibly be torn down to make way for new development. develop-ment. Dr. Orris, former Park City resident and physician, stated: "the Miners Hospital Hos-pital is not nearly so much of an issue to old time Park-ites Park-ites whom he feels are entitled en-titled to the sentimentalism as to newer, transplanted residents of Park City." In his opinion: "it is time Park City looks to its future rather than back into its past." Though somewhat sup-rised sup-rised by the many physical changes in, Park City, Dr. Orris, reported the situations situa-tions that were once frustrating frus-trating to him as a former resident and physician still exist. When he left here, hesays, "I thought Park City would quiet down and resolve its problems but it has not.' Now he is considering coming back, and is anxious to do what he can for the town. There is little doubt in the minds of local residents that Park City medical facilities could stand improving. Dr. Orris stated he would consider returning and establishing es-tablishing a much needed clinic in the community if he had the absolute support of the leadership of Greater Park City Company. He admits the costs for establishment of a clinic would be extremely high and feels a major portion of the funding for the project should come from Greater Park City Company. He stated: "the Company came to Park City with great vision and foresight and saved sav-ed the community from vanishing van-ishing all-together, but in the same token the Company has created a situation that has upset the homeo-stasius (internal-balance ) of the community, and that it requires re-quires continued effort to increase in-crease recreational, educational, educa-tional, and medical facilities for the increased population." pop-ulation." He feels it is Greater Park City Company's responsibility res-ponsibility at least, in part, to continue to aid in efforts to provide for these needs.
