Show Covering Through Africa' Entertains Athenaeum Athenaeum welcomed Mrs. Carol Weins, Salt Lake City, Monday, October 28, when she presented an unusual un-usual slide program entitled "Rovering Thru Africa". The trip was made by Mrs. Weins, her husband and three young daughters and took them from the northern tip of Africa to the extreme southern point of the continent. con-tinent. Their adventure extended ex-tended over a period of many months and the slides and commentary provided an insight in-sight into the people, customs, cus-toms, wildlife and scenery of the "dark" continent. Mrs. Audrey Stevens, president, presided at a brief business meeting which included in-cluded a report- by Mrs. Clements P. Hansen of the recent Salt Lake District meeting. Suggestions were made for ways to conserve-paper, conserve-paper, to introduce prayer into meetings and to support the UFWC project of the Senses Trail for handicapped handicapp-ed people. A letter from Mrs. Pearl Baker, Literature Chairman Chair-man UFWC, was read which delineated ideas for a book to be entitled "Hometown, Utah". It was decided to ask Bea Kummer, local historian, his-torian, to assist in assembling assem-bling appropriate materials. It was voted to financially ' support the Park City Well ' Baby Clinic. This will tie ir. with the UFWC program ot Drug Abuse and Alcohol. Mrs. E. J. McPolin, member mem-ber of the Program Committee, Commit-tee, urged members to attend the next club meeting on Monday night, November 11, when Mrs. Lethe Coleman Tatge will present an evening of poetry. |
