S It L-It It would be De necessary for tor you to organize your own Squadron Squad Squad- ron with your Squadron commander Com Com- om- om mander Executive Officer Training Train- Train ing Officer Personnel Officer Operations Officer etc who may maybold hold bold old honorary Air Force rank and wear the Air Force uniform with Civil Air Patrol is not active in CAP insignia Types of Rescue 4 We We would be e very Interested Interest Interest- ed In having a unit in Coalville inasmuch as quite a few searches are in the area and the Wyoming Evanston We would also like to see eoe Coalville become air minded and start a flying club complete with airport facilities There is quite a stretch of mountainous country between Evanston and Salt Lake Reber lIeber and Morgan with no emergency strips I l really really re re- re ally aUy feel that Coalville could work up a very effective search and rescue unit with the Civil Air Patrol You could also work with the sheriff if it you desired to have members deputized and trained in that line tine of work You could be effective in all types of and rescue however those those- on yo your r own and not authorized by br bythe bythe the Air Force would not be financed financed fi fl or covered by insurance We have a group in Lehl Lehi which specializes in water rescue fescue along with their Civil Air Patrol work there thore are other units unita which spec specs in mobile radio and ground rescue work and other specializing ing In aerial search Cost Oost of Joining I 5 There There is also a place for tor I women in CAt CAP and the program offers an outstanding cadet program program program pro pro- gram for boys and girls from 11 U Uto to 20 The cost of ot joining is III 1200 a year for new Dew members and 1700 for husband and wife tell teems of this amount would be retained by your Squadron by Wing Headquarters in Salt Lake and sent to National National Na Na- Headquarters in Texas On Ona a husband wife husband combination no money would be retained by you or the Utah Wing 6 I I am enclosing a CAP paper h Is sent monthly to all aU mom memo bers You may be interested in reading of some Bome of the activities 71 We V-We We are planning a Squadron Commanders meeting for Nov Nor 12 at 1300 at the Municipal Airport This meeting is designed to let I Ithe the Commanders know what is required ot of them and to discuss their problems If It you are ara interested I would be happy to send the details 8 I I would like t to stress that I this is a 11 volunteer program and though there is Ie some assistance by National Headquarters and the Utah Wing its it's success is dependent depend ent upon the the enthusiasm and work of ot the individual members and leaders 9 If If I can be of further servo service ice please feel free to write Jo Capt CAp Deputy for Personnel |
