tor for this division the teams that were competing were from morgan north summit south summit wasatch and of course park city fach each negative and ek affirmative iff r m active team competed against one respective e calve opposing team the j judges tor the contest debates es were mr laberne la verne balne baine debating at the university mr ted moss one of mr balnes pupils who won the rocky mountain mo u debating championship and mr ray owen another pupil who won the Pacific coast debating championship our negative team debated against south summits affirmative team and our affirmative team opposed morgans negative negate ve t team c a in the last debate of the series was finished about and the judges fudges retired red to confer on the decision during this time there was much suspense and a brave summoning of spirit to meet defeat at pluckily pluck lly each team had a given number and when the judges announced a unanimous checial decision on for team no 3 it took us a few minutes to actually realize that the judges meant us then we were busily engaged with congratulations from other coa coaches hes and members of other teams we were thrilled to the core with that first unmistakable sensation of 0 victory much credit Is due our able coach who has spent as much of his bis time as possible in helping us prepare tor for these debates superintendent alston so english class Is studying silas marner 1 we have not gone deeply into the plot but the picturesque setting and the peculiar characters encountered so tar far have proved a pleasure to the class the booklets that we made of our debates are very attract attractive ie and a few are outstanding in the cover design it if our conduct tor for the week Is good miss keener permits us to give a short program on friday we have had several programs which have praed interesting and enjoyable the geometry classes are studying pro portions and the propositions connected with proportions some ot of the propositions are difficult but as a whole they are interesting owing to the short school year we find the work piling up we tee feel confident however that the required work will be finished on time A certain sophomore boy who h has mu much ch talent as a violin player and a certain sophomore girl who has brown hair and blue eyes are finding each other very interesting ARR ARCHER 35 ar REPORT spring fever lias has slightly diminished l since this wonderful snow storm but the fever probably will return and with as much force as ever no jaws have be been dislocated yet but it if the yawns c continue it as wide as heretofore ten to one there will be dislocations I 1 mr air winters Is making our algebra harder now at the beginning of the year we had to work a problem by only one method now ever been put on by any senior class As there are only four weeks of school left the seniors are preparing tor for graduation by having their lessons on time and it if in the past term they have
