| Show deserved praise for senator egan mondays salt bait lake tribune in introducing senator H fred egan oil of this city to the people of utah truthful truthfully 11 y said H fred ed egan of park city Is the young youn g se senator n ator with the aristocratic appearance pear pe arance and bearing who Is 86 36 years old and looks 30 but the youthful look Is the only way in which senator egan appears young tor for in wisdom and judgment there are tew few to in the upper house who excel him this Is the second legislature which mr egan has served in the senate and he Is chairman of the revenue and taxation committee of that body this session when the legislature Is not in session mr egan may be found attending to his bis duties as cashier of the state bank of park city sensor egan was born in woods cross september 23 1892 he spent much of his early life in idaho and at the age ot of 17 went to ireland on a mission for the L D S church for five years the future senator worked in various banks of salt lake and when the united states entered the world war he volunteered tor for duty he was sent to flordia for training and when the french government requested specially trained clerical men from the united states mr egan was one of ten who were sent over before the end of the war senator egan had been commissioned a lieutenant upon his return to utah mr egan became cashier of the park city bank during the time he has lived in that city he has been active in civic affairs having served as secretary of the commercial club and as a member of the board of directors of the kiwanis club senator egan boasts a perfect record in this legislature in that he be has not introduced a bill lie he Is opposed to all freak legislation and believes that more good could be done by the legislators in repealing a lot of useless laws than in passing others the senator ts la married and has two daughters one of whom was born bora since the present legislature convened |
