last at and informed the record reporter thi that work was progressing very satisfactory at hi his property the tunnel t 1 I which will cut the al valeo leo fissure is now in some reet feet and according according to mr air C goddard od dard less than feet more will have to be driven before the object Is reached A sample formation that Is now being cut was left at this office and while it Is not a high grade ore values are present and helps to prove that the eastern section of this great mining district win will in the near future be attracting I 1 atten attention t I 1 on from the mining world in speaking further of the property mr goddard said bald the property consists ot of a group of 10 full and fractional mining locations embracing an area of about acres situated in section 25 35 T 2 south range 4 east salt lake meridian blue ledge mining district wasatch county I 1 utah to the south it is bounded by the P park ark standard and valejo properties to the west by the park galena now new controlled by the star of utah which also forms the north boundary to the east cast lie the mineral leases of the park premier mining company issued by the state of utah the south boundary of the park utah consolidated mines company property 1 d l lies one half mile to the north the town of park city lies two and one halt half miles to the northwest while keetley beetley lies two miles to the northeast the park city anticline Is a broad 1 I anticline having a trend northeast and southwest the axis passing near the I 1 town of park city the arch Is irregular due to faulting and to minor local folds in the vicinity of the property the formations 1 have b been ell considerably ed as can be noted by the local folding steep tilting of the beds and the intrusion of igneous bodies conditions underground are therefore ideal tor for the presence of crushed zones li which may have hav become enriched from g I 1 the ore bearing fi fissures assures from tho the oper operations eions of the mines of if the district it h has a a been determined that athe the trend of the ore making fissures and I 1 1 lodes are generally northeast and south IL wes west W with some few exceptions 1 bar in the past t there ere have been attempts K aby by engineers and operators to define the if lode de deposits to art an area in the district having haling certain limits but this theory has been found to be tautly by the discovery from time to time of large ore bodies outside of the limits of the zone operations within the past few months has ex tended the ore making area on the east 1 1 4 ern em extremity of the district so that at the present time the fissure system has a width of over 4 miles in width north find and south and it Is probable that the limits have not yet been reached i similar to the other camps of the state I 1 the ore deposits are associated with als j cures or intrusive rocks lode de deposits P asi are general in both lime stone and izote and in places to in the intrusive rocks while bedded deposits will be found asi i 1 soc latea with fissures in limestone only As far as mined in the eastern s section of the district ore has been mined thru a vertical range of about feet from I 1 the hhaynes limestone triassic down to J i carboniferous wasatch limestone underlying I 1 the weber quartzite r I 1 on the I 1 property under discussion the 1 erosion has exposed the weber quartzite qua along the northern end while the park city formation Is believed to be on the swill I surface on the southern portion the ore will therefore have to be expected in veins or fissures extending into the area from the west about 1200 feet north of the property the glencoe fissure with a northeast southwest trend cuts through the formations and has been the source of considerable ore within a few hun crad dred feet of the southwestern extremity of the property the valejo fissure runs in n a nearly east cast west course and if continued on its present course mill pass through the southern part of the property thus there is a strong fissure I 1 north of the property and another one near bear the south end with possible intervening fissures indic indicating aUng that the area I 1 under falls in a zone having I 1 present mineralized fissures having the same trend as those in others parts of the district small fla fissures can be noticed on the property also dikes of porphyry none of have been explored about one halt half mile houth of the property mineral izing fissures have been cut on the property of the palk paik standard mining company VL 1 the
