| Show two young men held for trial last sunday night W R jefford and deputy sheriff workman placed under arrest francis butts and ray burgener Burge ncr on oil complaint ot of the father of 0 a sixteen year old girl whose home is on woodside avenue charging them with criminally assaulting his daughter the young men 19 and 17 years old respectively were taken to Co coalville alville and later placed under bonds to appear next tuesday the for trial the trial was first set for last tuesday but because of the absence from the city of the tha arresting officers the case had to be postponed to W R jefford who was asked to investigate vesti gate the affair by the father the girl said that on saturday evening she was asked to go into the home of butts whose parents were away from home to see some pictures after being in the home a few minutes she said burgener came from another room when both the boys tied her on the bed gagging her and after partly disrobing dis her compelled her to remain with them all night the boys while partly admitting their guilt stoutly maintain that there was no or and that the girl only remained ed with them until antu about midnight when she left the house but was irald to go home so remained in a shed near her home until morning conflicting stories have been told on oil both sides and alid it is hoped that the facts will be brought out at the trial and just punishment meted out to the guilty ones I 1 |
