C Rees and E. E Hill catcher was Mark Willey The game was touch and go from the begInning with first one team ahead and then Ulen the other other oth- oth er until by the fifth inning the score was tied 7 and remained remained re- re tied through the last inning necessitating an extra inning IN THE BOTTOM of the with Bountiful at bat the first firstman firstman man up struck out Terry Orchard Orchard Or- Or chard got a walk and nd later was forced out at second Scott Calder Calder Cal Cal- der singles Bill Davies got on onby onby by a fielders fielder's choice Thus with two men two outs and two strikes Craig Rees flees hit a home run breaking the Ue tie and Winning winning Win Win- ning the game 10 In the second game Provo led off of with two runs Bountiful came back in the Ule bottom of the first when Craig Rees flees hit a ahome ahome home run wIth Bill Davies on base to tie the score 2 IN THE THIRD inning Provo retaliated wIth three runs And Bountiful not to be outdone in inthe inthe the bottom of the third KevIn Jensen doubled and brought two runs in bringing the score to Provo 5 and Bountiful 4 The score was again tied in the bottom bottom bot- bot tom of the inning when Tom East singled and stole home No one scored through the rest of the game making necessary sary again an extra inning In Inthe Inthe the bottom of the Bountiful was at bat and Terry Orchard got on base by a walk stole second and third and came home on an overthrow to third with two men out winning the game Bountiful 6 Provo 5 BOUNTIFUL now goes to the Region tournament which began began be- be gan Wednesday Aug 10 in Springville The Winner from there will go to CalifornIa to determine the division championship championship cham- cham and then to Ralston I Neb for the Pony Willey Bill Davies Scott Acord David Downs Front Roy East Pony League president Kevin Jensen Tommy East Danny Rast Terry Orchard and Rich Hinds Credit should be given to all I the boys and coaches Mr WIlley WIlley WIl- WIl I ley Mr Lalli and Mr LIndsey I and a big thanks to Mark Willey the working hard catcher in I every game for the maximum effort shown in coming up from the losers loser's spot to have to play seven seve n games three do double doubleheaders ubI e I headers to win I |
