J A. A Taylor Elementary School before his appointment appointment appoint appoint- appointment ment at Stoker Elementary School Speaking of this new as assignment assignment assignment as- as Mr Terry said I am thoroughly enjoying this new assign assignment men t at Stoker School We have a awell awell awell well equipped school and a dedicated faculty We an anticipate anticipate anticipate an- an continuing the high standard of education for which Stoker School is known TEACHING IS continually continual continual- ly undergoing changes and steadily improving This is isan isan isan an exciting time to be an educator for there Is an unlimited number of areas to explore and much en encouragement encouragement encouragement en- en to do so Mr Terry has resided in Bountiful since 1944 He Heis Heis Heis is married to the former Sherry Beesley and they have three young sons son s Scott Clark and Jimmy He is an active member of the Bountiful ward and he has spent many years with scouting at the ward and stake levels IN HIS IUS SPARE time he particularly enjoys traveling traveling trav trav- eling camping h hunting u n tin g and other outdoor or athletic athletic athletic ath ath- letic activities He lie also is fond of sculpturing t u r i n g and drama In regard to his experience experience exper exper- tence in the teaching field Mr Terry made the following follow follow- following ing remarks IT IS BECOMING more and more obvious that education education education edu edu- cation today must teach a achild achild achild child certain facts but also it must teach a child how to learn Much of the information that children learn today will be outdated 20 years from now now and they must be beable able to think create and to solve problems which we have not yet imagined HELP THE educator to teach your child how to learn Give him numerous experiences and t involve n vol v e him in living Children who have a wider range of experiences ex ex ex- have higher IQ lQ scores scorn and are more able to compete in schol scholastic a s tic and social activities |
