| Show INQUEST HELD INQUIRY BEING MADE INTO INJURY OF JAMES LYNCH eyewitness eye witness of brutal act of brakeman testifies to facts an inquest over the remains ot james anch who alej last evening as the i esvelt of injuries sustained oy being run over by a rio grando western freight train early sunday morning was held before judge howell and a coroners jury consisting of james cassan theodore kuchler and J J heed at 3 this afternoon this morning the coroner and jury viewed the remains at the ogden general hospital the first evidence presented to the jury was the dyl declaration of lynah which was given sunday morning in the pre of county attorney judge II owell county physician fortes dan hamer stenographer and sheriff galley J J hurko twenty years of age and a sailor by occupation was the first witness before the jury he said that he was on the back part of the train saturday night when it pulled out lie wa sleeping in an ice box on the car and was awakened by the flash of a lantern A little later he heard some asking somebody for a piece of money and the next thins he heard a shot after thea firing of the shot one ot the brakemen demanded some money from him but he leave any and when the train slowed down be got off while walking along ite train he heard the brakeman on top cursing lynch when the train started out again he said her saw a nr akeman push lynch oft the train ho said that the brakeman who pushed lynch off was of short stature and wore a peaked cap W I 1 luter of sutherland and All laon he rio grande western railroad company was cross questioning the witness when this report closed |
