THE MATS salt lake convention is con ii fronted with knotty problem i should utah delegates be silent or oppose uniform marriage plank salt lake june 8 the question of polygamy and the action that should be taken on it by the national convention Is likely to result in a sharp fight in the democratic state convention which meets tomorrow to select six delegates to the national convene alon A proposition will bo made t give the delegates explicit instruction to oppose the proposed plank in tho national platform providing tor a uniform marriage and divorce law for every state and territory of the union over these lines are being sharply drawn one faction asserting that tha utah delegates should be silent on the point and the other claiming that the utah delegation by its action in opposing the admission ot such a plank would give the impression of defending polygamy the delegation probably will go to st louis uninstructed although there ia a strong undercurrent of hearst feeling
