| Show board of lady managers will honor her at st louis ceremonies today st louie may the board of lady managers of the worlds fair has decided unanimously that the pictures of prominent women of the united states ahall be bung on the walls of the building the decision was reached with the provision that the pictures collected must be those of bona fide prominent women and that they must pass an inspection to be made by a specially appointed committee about pictures have been collected all of which had received the approval of the former president of the board mrs J L blaar the board adopted a resolution to tender a reception in honor of miss alice roosevelt A resolution introduced 1 miss helen M gould was adopted to tender a reception in the building during the latter part ot may to the officers of the army and navy who are affiliated with the exposition the principal feature of program was the formal dedication of the chinese pavilion the pavilion Is located just below the administration building terrace and is typical of chinese architecture visitors pass through a massive gateway which Is surmounted by statues carved from woods and different celestial emblems in bright colors the pavilion Is surrounded by a high wall pagodas and other small buildings contain the curios while the pavilion Is filled with splendid specimens of chinese pottery hand carved mahogany affa rosewood furniture and from the belling are suspended scores of lamps entirely wrought from glass the embellishments throughout are unique and very attractive |
