WANTS PURE WATER washington dec 20 senator war ren biad a conference with the secretary of the interior and presented with his recommendation a resolution adopted august ath by the city council of cheyenne petitioning the interior department to have the topography and survey made of alie crow creek forest reserve and contiguous districts and that such districts be added to this as will insure the preservation of alie water supply of fiddle crow creek laramie county and prevent its pollution the water supply of cheyenne and fort russell is taken from middle crow cicek and the city ia now building a reservoir costing to enlarge the water system for the city and post crow creek forest reserve covers the watershed ot the sources of this stream and it is to enlarge the original Oli ginal reserve to fully protect the cites interest representative mondell was in the indian office today urging that steps be taken to have the lands in shoshone reservation er wyoming allotted in severally to the shoshone and arapahoe indians now on the reservation and the unoccupied lands after allotment opened to public settlement the indian oilier is awaiting appropriation of funds by congress required to pay the expense of making allotments and if the appropriation pria tion is made by the present congress allotments will be made during the coining year
