| Show first case tote tried under the hew ordinance in T regard minors T last evening officers vance and acis ncr arrested W astone RS tone the nineteen acar old son of amos stone and grant the 13 cearold son of henry on a charge of frequenting saloons contrary to the ordinance and baumeister of baumeister bros for allowing the minors in his saloon the arrested parties were taken to the station and allow efto go on their own recognizance S this ig the second time the seccle boy lias been taken over on the same charge the time previous being a week ago when officer vance took him over at that time chief browning gave the boy and hia father some good addico and warned them that in case of the boy being found in a saloon again a charge would be preferred the officers were instructed to strictly enforce alie ordinance in regard to minors frequenting saloon alio cases came up jor trial before judge at 3 this afternoon they were for 2 p m but a delay was occasioned by absence of witnesses A J weber appeared for baumeister Bau melster and steele and mark lessenger for stone while city attorney bagley conducted the prosecution officers vance and were sworn for the prosecution but before any evidence had been taken attorney weber objected on the ground that the complaint did not stata facts constituting a case and that the ordinance had not been properly attested the objection was overruled and meis ncr was being examined as we go to press |
