| Show EXHIBITS AT western states are taking a lively interest in the sacramento valley exhibit to be established in ogden and already other sections of the country arc preparing to imitate the progressive people of california the kano nevada gazette in an editorial says california already is preparing an exhibit of glicr products on view at ogden where it may be been by the hundreds of emigrants brought n by the converging railroads that center at that point washington oregon and idaho are taking steps to place the resources of their soil in the same conspicuous place why not nevada nevada has more public land more undeveloped mines and untouched wealth than all yet no one n stationed at ogden or anywhere else to tell intending settlers that in this much maligned commonwealth may be found richer soil purer water and more sunny days than anywhere else in this broad land why could not a mineral exhibit be arranged and placed at ogden along with some printed matter giving information as to agricultural and stock raising resources we would like to see this matter taken in band by some of our progressive citizens alio could handle it or some organization like the rano improvement club or the carson chamber of commerce the merits of ogden as a railroad center and the gateway of the west arc being recognized and the advantages to be obtained by representation in our city and a well displayed exhibit are hearing fruit sacramento has beai the first to act and the advertising which that section has already received by the move more than recompenses the enterprising citizens for their efforts the sacramento bee congratulates the originators of the scheme and says sacramento is taking the lead where formerly alic was content to lag behind the procession already her praiseworthy activity and enterprise in establishing an exhibit at ogden have brought three states ol 01 the grea t northwest tottering at her heels think sit oregon idaho and washington all at once stirred to emulation by a bold stroke from the sacramento chamber of commerce t this of itself is a notable achievement it nothing else ever came 0 the display by sacramento at ogden the prestige that the mere announcement of it is giving this city would bo well worth all the cost the tendency of live men to cast their lot with live places has long been noted men with money looking for a good town or city to invest in or as a place for a homo and business are attracted by a showing of progress and enterprise such men will see that sacramento la exerting herself for advancement that she has a superior location for busi ness a fine climate andrt rich and prosperous tributary country they will eay sacramento w all right is something doing there and she is a good place to tie to and they will act accordingly the sacramento bee undoubtedly hits the nail squarely on the head in th above we wh the progressive ana enterprising city of california all alfr cess |
