Show OLD WEATHER MARK in the hills that tells of the length of snows one of the marks of nature which many of the old residents of the county goby go by in the way of telling about the lasting of the snow and the length of alic irrigation and high water is a maltese cross formed near the top of the peak north of ogden this cross appears there with great regularity every year coming the latter part of may and lasting to about the ual of june it has been noticeable among the old residents of the county for the past twelve or fifteen years ane cross as it looks from here is made by two deep ravines one crossing the other making an almost perfect cross in the winter from twenty five to furty feet of snow fill in the ravines which lasts until along in june making the white maltese cross which is visible to alie eye the old residents who have noticed the cross state that when it lasts long it is a sure sign of the snow high water and irrigation lasting many days longer than the previous year |
