DALY STATUE butte mont slay 27 augustus st gaudenci Gau deni the famous american sculptor lias been commissioned to make the bronze statue of marcus daly which ia to be erected in butte by the frienda and admirers of the late president of the anaconda company the daly memorial association which was organized a few months after tho death of sir daly after raiding the funds requisite for the construction of a fitting pedestal and statue selected II 11 L frank U J eyan and william aa a committee to choose the sculptor to whose hands the work should be entrusted st gaudens was the fust choice but owing to the vast amount of work which the great sculptor has on his hands hia services vere not readily secured the matter wai anally settled today the price tobe paid for the statue is in addition alie sculptor will have of the preparation of designs for the pedestal it will probably require fifteen or sixteen months for alie completion of the statue and in all likelihood it arill bo unveiled in the fall of next year on the third anniversary of the death of mr daly
