worth present the minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved wm thompson J E coolidge Coolid go and george W culver appeared before the board in relation to certain tax matter matters referred to the tax committee james storey and N II 11 barker appeared before tho board in behalf of the petitioners petition ers who asked for the ic moyal of jesse vanderhoof as road supervisor per visor of north and made oral statements letter was received and read protesting against the removal of jesse vanderhoof as road supervisor also letters were received and read from A R C smith and L W liams protesting against the removal of sir vanderhoof saying he was a competent man the following petition was read addressed to the board we the undersigner undersigned under signed voters and taxpayer of north ogden in said county respectfully ask that the present road supervisor mr jesso vanderhoof be continued in office and remain as road supervisor in said district until the expiration pi ration of Ms term of office signed by john jones and seventy nine others all the matters were referred to commissioner skeen for investigation joseph southwick South wiek appeared before the board and presented a petition signed by himself and thirty two others aski ing for the laying out of a new road in liberty the matter was referred to the committee of the whole to be reported upon within two weeks commissioner wilson reported eliat the ledges in the canyon were all stripped of loise rocks and were now safe for travel commissioner stanford reported that charles welch had been employed to investigate vesti gate the cases of the indigent and poor of the county and through the investigation vesti gation eleven had been cut off the list which will mean a saving of about 60 a month to the county in many of the cases of those dropped it was found that they were able to support themselves from the improved conditions of the county the report and recommendations were adopted upon recommendation of chairman stanford the health officers of the various districts of tho county together with the county commissioners and physician will meet on saturday may 31 1902 at loi and discuss 0 clock with nil present wilson reported li haa 4 the contract clarence jones for the sprinkling of ogdan canyon road this buinger for 03 per month jones will begin sprinkling on wednesday may report petitions oil the other side of the matter and could not investigate the matter the request was granted commissioner stanford reported that mrs england at the county infirmary was in very poor mental condition and was a great burden to alie matron lie also added that when she was taken to the infirmary that the county was to receive alio proceeds dermed from a small piece of property owned by mrs eng as to defray her expenses and as yet the county had not received anything from the sale of the products of the property the matter was referred to commissioner stanford to further investigate and report upon tho matter of preparing a rough map of weber county showing the precincts school districts and election boundary lines was re furred to chairman stanford and clerk with power to act two petitions were read one for the appointment of fred wilson as fish and game warden and the other fo the reappointment of S V grow as the game warden the matter was under the consideration of the board as we go to press |
