Show RAILROAD NOTES the R G W waa lao today arriving at p m the cars had not been in any snow when the U P train from tho east came in it allowed evidence ot having been in plenty of the beautiful the U P trains were a little late the union depot company had a largo force of men at work cleaning snow off the platform the snow was piled up in heaps and then carried away it made an interesting scene there was absolutely nothing new in railroad circles today the storm and heavy snow interfered greatly with the telephone service today many of the connections were put in such shape that no calls could be made tho board of education met last night in regular session and had an informal discussion on matters pertaining to teachers the resignation of miss alice martin a teacher in the madison school was received and accepted miss martin has accepted a position in the salt lake schools the oregon short line has recently completed the work of barging aitho high wooden trestle in beaver canyon near spencer the work was made necessary by the use of heavier engines and trains the pacific is doing a vast amount of work in improving its roadbed large quantities of ties and heavy rails are being laid down while side tracks are being lengthened and new stations put in steam shovels are being used in the work of making grades tor the new sidings and everything necessary is being done to put the road In tor next years business |
