Show Caught the Wrong Rascals. Writing of rambling, says a Paris correspondent reminded me of an amusing incident that occurred at Nice some three or four winters back. The members of a certain gambling club, for different reasons, felt suspicious as to the play of one of the visitors. In order to verify their doubts it was agreed to call in an expert Parisian detective. Having duly, for several nights, watched the play, he was at lastiesired to make report on what he hod noticed, and the reply came with starring unexpectedness: The "Monsieur" "Mon-sieur" suspect had played throughout quit fairly, but three of the other Mtosieurs" had cheated regularly at all the seances. |
