Show EMOLUMENTS OF OFFICE. There is again some agitation over Mormon emigration. It is not on the old scare of "pauper labor," but on some statute prohibiting the landing of women and girls for immoral im-moral purposes. Senator Edmonds was appealed to and delivered himself him-self tints: "I suggest that your officer consult the United States district attorney on the subject. I would also advise the govornor of Utah of any such arr v ds to go forward ta the territory, with names and description de-scription so he and the district attorney at-torney there may keep watch and catch poligarnists if possible." What a job to set for those two high and mighty officials to be sure. Furnished with the names and discriptions of several hundred supposedly sup-posedly immoral females andrequied to look after them. Well! Well!- |
