the west bide side 0 ol 01 I 1 the rocky mountains in northwestern montana is is now the field of wonderful interest and rapid development I 1 notice that quite a number of enterprising citizens of your section are here 1 several ot of whom have already in invested v bated considerable money who could cow dow sell at a decided advance if they desired camion here from ogden a few weeks ago I 1 at sit once saw that this new town of kalispell Kah Kal spell was soon to become a flourishing city and at af once put fat some good money into lots which I 1 could fell sell at a large adva advance uce there are large opportunities here for X good investment and will be for some months to come this is a most beautiful and fertile valley let me briefly describe it to your rea re adera dero although located well north it has a comparatively mild climate the equatorial current of the pacific sends the soft winds of that climate up the pisses F e es of the columbia ner river clacks for fork k of the foot of the lake and come to thia this upper kipper valley by the steamboat the flathead t river about the lake receives the water of several smaller rivers and streams cro crossing esing the valley from the east north and west these all have their sources in the pretty lakes and great springs of the mountains and foothills the waler of all these streams Is the purest I 1 have ever seen the agricultural lands are very rich and productive and there la Is annually aa an abundant rainfall for growing crops wheat oata oats barley fruits and vegetables yield largely they do not consider a crop fair here it 40 to 50 bushels of wheat and barley are not grown and 80 bushels of oats per acre another Anther incomparable except 0 on n the pacific and sound resource of wealth here is the timber skirting the rivers and streams and covering the foothills and mountains are great forests of pine fir larch and other valuable lumber timber these e ex x tend for hundreds of miles and will northern b pacific railway la in rapidly building its linen lines to the pacific through the heart beat t of the alley valley and will be in in here in september next the coming city ot of the valley ia is on the railroad line and indeed the great northern itself ia is largely interested in making an industrial and commercial center here the only town of any importance in a the va valley GO so central I 1 is a it located but another great source of prosperity just beginning to develop is the gold silver lead iron and coal regions both east and west of the valley on the lines of the new railway these are believed to be very rich and indeed some ot of the mines have proven to be so here are therefore all the natural resources to make a rich and prosperous country agriculture timber minerals which will make manufacturing and co commerce in and a busy galley of prosperous people ahe other industries BO so well balanced will sill require every pound of breadstuffs bread stuffs produced BO so agriculture will have a splendid and profitable market at ita its doors bright intelligent people are coming in rapt rapidly idl athe the town of 0 Kal Kalie lerell pell was platted
